Hopelessness

Depression can exaggerate negative feelings.

The feelings that are described here are normal to a certain degree. As a person who has been recovering from Manic Depression I have learned that these feelings are normal for most people, but for me the difference was the frequency, and the extremety of these events. All of us get mad once in a while, and some of us even lose hope for a short period of time, but do recover. These feelings for me occurred very often, and the events were always exaggerated and very long lasting compared to most people. When I was angry.......the whole world knew it, and if they didn't I spent the time making sure they did. I would have little control of how long these events would last. If I was sad or hurt about someone, or something that happened to me, it was like the end of the world. There was nothing anyone could do to bring me out of the situation. Some how it was always a matter of time, and it was very difficult to break my focus on what was so devastating to me at that time.

Feelings of hopelessness may have started early for some.
